* SUMMARY:
“Elmer and Eisner saved fourteen dollars and sixty-two cents to buy a horse which they wanted more than anything else. Their parents made it fifteen, and they made a bargain with a farmer for Kristie. Kristie had a lot of peculiarities, like not moving unless she had a hat on, she always turned to the left, which made getting to their destination somewhat complicated, plus the fact that the boys couldn’t ride her- she had to pull a wagon. But finally they adjusted themselves to her ways and drove to the swimming pool all summer. Amusing, and well illustrated.
